Overview No tracking
Lendit is a simple app to track things you borrow and lend. It contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs, no third-party trackers, and no external servers operated by the developer. Your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud account.
Data You Enter
When you add a loan, the app stores the following on your device:
- A person's name
- A description of the item
- The loan date and reminder date
- A category and an optional photo of the item
This information is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework and is never sent to any server controlled by the developer.
iCloud Sync
If you are signed into iCloud on your device, Lendit syncs your loan data via Apple CloudKit so it is available across your Apple devices and survives app reinstallation. This sync is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy . The developer has no access to the data stored in your iCloud account.
Contacts
Lendit can optionally let you choose a person directly from your
iPhone Contacts using Apple's system contact picker
(CNContactPickerViewController). Only the
name of the selected contact is saved to the loan entry.
No other contact data is read or stored, and the app never accesses your
full contacts list.
Camera & Photo Library
If you choose to add a photo to a loan, the app can access your camera or photo library to let you select or take a picture. The photo is stored only as part of that loan entry on your device (and in iCloud if sync is enabled). No photos are uploaded anywhere else.
Notifications
Lendit schedules local notifications on your device as reminders to follow up on loans. These notifications are generated entirely on-device and are never sent to an external server.
If you enable "Add to Reminders", the app writes a single reminder entry to your iOS Reminders app via Apple's EventKit framework. This data is stored in your own Reminders/iCloud account and is not accessible to the developer.
Sharing (Receipt Feature)
The "Share Receipt" feature generates an image of a loan summary on your
device using Apple's ImageRenderer API. The image is shared
directly through iOS's standard share sheet (iMessage, WhatsApp, etc.).
The developer does not receive or process this image.
Data Retention & Deletion
All data is controlled by you. You can delete individual loan entries at any time from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. To also remove iCloud data, delete the app's data from Settings → [Your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on your device.
Children's Privacy
Lendit does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The app contains no age-gated content or features.
Changes to This Policy
If the privacy practices of the app change in a material way, this page will be updated with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
