Privacy Policy for TabaTid
Last updated: 21 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TabaTid handles information in the iPhone and Apple Watch apps. We designed the apps so that your workouts and settings stay on your devices and in Apple’s frameworks, not on servers we operate.
1. Information We Collect and Use
TabaTid is a fitness timer for Tabata and interval workouts. To provide the app, we use:
- Health and Fitness Data (HealthKit): With your permission, TabaTid saves completed workouts to the Apple Health app as high-intensity interval training. On Apple Watch, a live workout session may also record activity data that Apple Health associates with that workout (such as heart rate or calories, when available from the watch). We do not use HealthKit data for marketing or advertising.
- Workout Configurations: Custom workouts you create (name, work and rest times, rounds, and exercises) are stored locally on your iPhone and can be synced to your paired Apple Watch.
- Language Preference: The language you choose in the iPhone app is stored on the device and sent to your paired Apple Watch so both apps can show the same language. Language can only be changed on the iPhone.
- Group Workout Session Data: If you host or join a shared workout, TabaTid temporarily stores a session code and the current timer state (for example round, phase, and whether the workout is running) so other participants can stay in sync. This is not a user account or profile.
2. How Your Data is Stored and Transferred
- On your devices: Saved workouts and your language choice are stored locally on your iPhone. Workouts and language are synced to your own Apple Watch through Apple’s WatchConnectivity when the watch app is used with your paired iPhone.
- Nearby devices (Bluetooth and local network): You can join a workout on another iPhone nearby. This uses Bluetooth and the local network so two phones in the same place can connect. That connection stays on the local network; we do not send it to our own servers.
- iCloud / CloudKit: Shared workouts that a Watch (or a phone that is not nearby) can join use Apple CloudKit’s public database. We store a short-lived session record keyed by a four-digit code, including the current workout snapshot. This uses Apple’s iCloud infrastructure. We do not run our own backend. Anyone who has the code during an active session can fetch that snapshot. When the host ends the workout, the session is marked as ended.
- No accounts: TabaTid does not create user accounts, and we do not operate a login service.
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
- No third-party sharing: We do not sell, trade, or share your fitness or personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
- Apple: Data handled through HealthKit, CloudKit, WatchConnectivity, and Bluetooth is processed by Apple according to Apple’s terms and your device settings.
- HealthKit restrictions: In line with Apple’s guidelines, HealthKit data is used only to provide health and fitness features in TabaTid and is never used for marketing or advertising.
4. User Control and Deletion
- Health data: You can change or revoke TabaTid’s access to HealthKit in the iPhone Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health.
- Workouts: You can delete saved workout routines in the app.
- Language: You can change language in the iPhone app (About). That choice is stored on the phone and updates the paired Watch.
- Group sessions: A shared session exists only while a workout is hosted. Ending the workout marks the CloudKit session as ended. Nearby Bluetooth sessions end when you leave or disconnect.
5. Children’s Privacy
TabaTid does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this page and, when appropriate, through the App Store listing.
